ESL tuition
Background
As English is the modern-day language of education, commerce and travel, it is hard to study abroad, conduct business or travel easily throughout the world without some knowledge of English. It has become the international language of the contemporary world.
Who might benefit from ESL tuition
Any person from a non-English speaking background could benefit from this tuition. This includes beginning students of English, migrants, new arrivals, intending students in Australian schools or tertiary institutions and relatively fluent speakers who wish to improve their knowledge, skills and understanding of English and its use.
ESL classes at the International Academy of Education
These classes are designed for people who wish to improve their knowledge and understanding of the English language as used in Australia. An intercultural language learning approach is used as a focus for learning activities.
There is an emphasis on reading, writing, speaking and listening as well as on grammar, vocabulary and the appropriate use of everyday English in communication.
Source materials will include TV and radio programs, taped conversations, texts from books, magazines and journals, reports, charts and graphical presentations, as well as interviews. There will be an emphasis on the development of skills for living in the broad social and educational context of contemporary Australian society.
